[And indeed, on the day in question, Jin had creeped over in the middle of the day, bypassing most of the activities he'd witnessed in passing as he went with his briefcase firmly gripped in both hands.]
[She's there already, seated at the entrance of one of the cells; inside is what looks like a plushie of some kind - but it's missing its head. Wrapped around it is a badly-burnt scarf that still smells of burning flesh, even months later.
The admins really outdid themselves with that one.
When he approaches, she looks up and smiles thinly.]
[It was highly disturbing how accustomed you could become to the scent of burning flesh. Chalk that up on the list of weird existentialist moments.]
Well, it's not like I had anything better to do. You're comparatively more tolerable than most people around here. [He says with a smirk, so.... that's probably a compliment.
He stepped closer towards her and the cells before taking a knee and setting the briefcase down on the ground, clicking it open.]
[She returns his smirk with a wry smile, then glances back down at the wrapped-up plush inside the cell. As he sets his briefcase down, she sighs.]
These always seem to be at the top of my trunk, even when I put them at the bottom. They're not reminders that I want. ...even if it doesn't work, I figure blowing them up will make me feel a little better.
[He shuffles through his things a bit, idly speaking as he did.] They do that a lot. It's one of their favorite gimmicks-- something about this place or whatever programming they've got here will leave some of the stuff they give us right where we don't want 'em. Can't get rid of 'em most of the time.
[He pulled out two smaller sized bombs, not as big as grenades, but certainly still enough to back a punch.] 'Course, that also just means we get to have more fun with 'em if they don't go away.
[That makes her giggle, if only because pushing luck is sort of what Sheba does, but she lets the subject drop. Badmouthing the administrators is more her speed right now, anyway.]
They're not very creative at all, are they... if they have to rely on things like this to get under our skin.
[She studies the two bombs curiously.] ...those are different from the thing you had when we met. What are they?
They waste their creativity trying to fuck with our heads in their dumb games.
[Which was totally not an admission to any of their tortures actually being creative. Nah. Let's talk about explosives.]
Cherry bombs-- smaller explosives, but I've given them some extra juice. That thing I blew us up with before was a grenade-- military grade. Enough power to level a street corner at their finest.
[There's a teasing lilt to her voice, but the mirth vanishes from her eyes when she brings her gaze from the cherry bomb to the plushie she wants to blow up.]
So... how much time do we have between lighting the fuse and the explosion?
no subject
Can I borrow one? Last time I was here I got some gifts I never wanted to keep, and now that I'm back... they're still here.
I'll find some way to pay you back.

Pay me back by letting me watch the fireworks.
And maybe don't electrocute me.

How does two days from now on the floor with the jail cells sound? We can set it off in there so we don't get caught in the blast.

You came... thank you.

[It worked for Jenna, anyway.]

[Okay, she has to admit, she's curious to see how these work. She holds out a hand as if to pick one up, then pauses.]
Could I take a look at one of them, or would that accidentally set it off?
no subject
Not unless you plan on looking at it with an open flame. You gotta light the fuse for it to blow.
[He certainly made no effort to snatch them away from her reach, so assumably it was OK?]
no subject
Wow... this is really well-made.
no subject
Of course it is-- I made it. If you don't make it right, it blows up in your face.
[As the many faded burn scars he's accumulated can probably attest to.]

no subject
Takes the fuse about 30 seconds to burn down, so about that much. Don't worry-- the explosion's probably less lethal than on average around here.
no subject
[With that, she nods decisively and sets the cherry bomb she's holding down by the plushie, then looks to the other.]
Two at once? Or should we save the other in case there's still things left after the first explosion?
no subject
Depends on how big you want the bang-- but if you wanna blow both, I've got plenty more where this came from for the remainder.
[Sometimes some simple lighter-fluid-and-arson got the job done just as well too.]
